LeeAnn Perry (XXU, producer) and Amy Braun (UXX, singer) met at Stanford University as Neuroscience PhD students, but they have always bonded in the realm of the artistic, the emotional, and the mystical. While Perry played dark, industrial-inflected ambient electronic music at raves and campouts, Braun fronted a scrappy post-punk outfit playing house shows in Oakland. After a decade of friendship, they started their work together when a friend asked for an opener for a show a month out. After a blur of sleepless nights spent listening, sharing, deconstructing, and reconstructing, they succeeded in merging their disparate influences and aesthetics to yield a genre-defying sound that is dark, mature, vulnerable, spacious, and heartfelt.
